Shannon Elf, Ph.D., Associate Professor at the University of Utah and CIHD Enrichment Core Director, was an invited speaker at the meeting. She presented her lab’s work on bone marrow-derived fibrocytes in health and disease.
Matthew Rondina, MD, Professor at the University of Utah and CIHD Member, presented his group’s work on targeting interferon-sensitive genes to preserve stemness in HSCs. The first author of this work, Meenakshi Banerjee, Ph.D., will present this story at the CIHD Virtual Seminar Series on April 14, 2026!
Nicole Arellano, Ph.D. student in Shannon Elf’s lab and 2025 CIHD Student/Postdoc Exchange alum/CCEH Type A P&F awardee, presented her work on calcium-mediated metabolic reprogramming in myeloproliferative disorders.
Emily Tsao, Ph.D. student in Kristin Hope’s lab at the University of Toronto and 2025 CIHD Student/Postdoc Exchange alum, presented her work on mechanisms underlying erythroid differentiation defects in del(20q) disordered hematopoiesis.
